Notes from the High Summer Studio
Hello friends,
I hope you’ve been soaking up the magical, golden light of high summer.
There’s a wonderful, lazy heat over the Devon countryside at the moment. The meadows have turned to gold, dotted with tansy and knapweed stretching toward the sun. Even in the long, hot days, as we wait for rain, the wild land keeps blooming anyway.
I’ve been spending these sun-drenched weeks in the studio pouring that summer magic straight onto fresh canvases—letting the wildness of the landscape guide every splash and splatter. Looking forward to the Devon Open Studios next month.
September always feels like the perfect time to welcome a seasonal slowing down and share this soul work in person. I’ll have my new collection of original oil paintings, and will be warmly welcoming old friends and looking forward to making new ones. The space shall be overflowing with stretched linens full of kaleidoscopic meadows, vast oceans and atmospheric moorlands of all sizes and to suit all budgets. Limited edition prints, hand embellished canvases, textiles and cards will be available too. There really will be something for everyone, including tea and cakes:)
