Hope, New Beginnings, and Spring Open Studios

As the whispers of Imbolc fade and the rosy glow of Valentine’s Day approaches, I am embracing the season of love and new beginnings. With the earth awakening beneath the softening frost, my studio is also buzzing with creative energy, ready to blossom with new artwork and exciting open studio events. 

Marked by the ancient festival of Imbolc (February 1st), echoes the tender stirrings of love, making this time of year particularly potent and meaningful. With the traditional celebration of love poised between the deep slumber of winter and the vibrant promise of new beginnings. 

St Valentine’s Day, with its focus on romantic love, offers another opportunity to nurture those precious connections that bring light and joy to our lives. But beyond the heart-shaped boxes and bouquets, lies a deeper message: the importance of cherishing all forms of love – for our partners, our families, our friends, and perhaps most importantly, for ourselves.

With this time for planting seeds, both in the fertile earth and within our hearts, embracing the burgeoning promise of the year ahead. 

So with February’s promise of returning light and just as the first crocuses and snow drops push through the chilled Devon soil, I feel my creative spirit is also blossoming. Inspired by the quiet joy of anticipation and the promise of brighter days, my latest works are inspired by the gentle thaw that reminds me of the creative spark within, harnessing that spirit of love. 

I’m delighted to unveil a brand new collection of small, original artworks, each one a tiny treasure of love, perfect for gifting or cherishing. Valentine’s Day is a beautiful reminder to celebrate all kinds of love, And sometimes, the smallest gestures can carry the biggest meaning. That’s what inspired this new collection – little pieces of art, brimming with love and ready to brighten someone’s day. All my originals, a selection of hand embellished printed canvases and limited edition prints will all be available as my upcoming Spring open studios.
