Gratitude & Reflections After Open Studios

As early autumn takes hold across Devon, the evenings are lengthening and the winding lanes in Devon are strung with rosehips and blackberries. There is a distinct, beautiful shift in the air, from the sun-drenched days of summer to the grounding embrace of the colder months.

This time of year always feels like a natural threshold in the studio, marked by the September Devon Open Studios. Now that the weekend has passed and the studio doors have closed, my heart is truly overflowing with gratitude.

Thank you to every beautiful soul who made the journey here and shared their stories, warmth, and kindness with me. It means the absolute world to me.

It’s been a busy season capturing the spirit of kaleidoscopic meadows, vast oceans, and glowing moorlands on canvas. Opening the studio up to friends old and new brings that work full circle. Meeting you all and sharing a cup of tea is always the absolute highlight of my creative year.

As we shift our focus indoors and look toward creating cosy sanctuaries in our homes for the season ahead, the studio is settling into its own quiet rhythm. The vibrant energy of summer on canvas, offers a little slice of eternal warmth to carry us through the darker months.

To everyone who visited, brought a piece of the meadow home with them, or simply stopped by to share a moment—thank you for being such a meaningful part of this creative journey.

Sending you all so much love, warmth, and a million blessings for the autumn ahead,

Yvonne xxx
