Embracing Autumn: A New Collection of Textiles and Open Studios

My heart always celebrates autumn-time. With the turn of the season now upon us, the days are shortening and winter is gently approaching. It is a time of surrender, letting go and slowing down.

I love witnessing a sense of quiet tranquility washing over the Devon countryside. The land has a calm stillness as it quietly holds dormant seeds full of promises of new beginnings. Vibrant rainbow hues of summer have given way to the earthy tones of autumn. The fields and forests transform into a glowing tapestry of reds, oranges, and golds. As the ripples of autumn echo throughout the month, I am finding inspiration in the mist shrouded moors and raging amber river, soothing the soul and nourishing the spirit. I am enjoying feeling the earth deepening into restfulness. This time of year, for me, always provides a simple reminder to trust and just be.

It is during these darker months when our home comforts start to be a real source of joy and creating cosy spaces is soul food. It is a time when crackling fires, glowing candles and vintage lamps become the beacons of light. It is when we want to create spaces to nurture and look after our loves ones. It is the home which has led me to create my new textile collection.

Bringing a touch of nature to your home or simply as a thoughtful and eco-friendly gift, I hope this special collection will bring as much joy as it did to create them. I have always had a love of interiors and for creating an environment that sings comfort and beauty. Ethically produced using eco-friendly materials and inks, the gorgeous wash bags come in a small or a large. A vibrant addition to any bathroom, they have a waterproof lining with one of my complimentary designs in organic cotton, they are the ideal joyful travel companion.

Forever inspired by the stunning ever-changing kaleidoscopic landscapes of Devon, I have transformed some of my favourite artworks into beautiful textile collection. This special collection has been dreamt with both style and usefulness in mind. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and ethically produced using organic cotton, ensuring both quality and sustainability.

With my thoughts on curling up at home, I have made a choice of two sumptuous cushion covers designed to effortlessly add a joyful pop of joy to any sofa, bed or chair. Each is double sided with my designs, has beautifully piped edges, sturdy zips and are crafted with the highest quality organic fabrics. As the weather cools, there’s nothing quite like curling up with a beloved pet or a warm cup of tea, you can fill my cushion covers at home with your choice of filling for optimal cosiness.

My robust canvas bags are practical as well as pretty. Both my wildflower flat bottom and meadow box bottom organic cotton bags are perfect for throwing my art supplies in when I’m going to the studio or heading down to the garden for some creative play. They are also strong, beautiful and fully washable.  The intention for my multi purpose art bags is to be an essential for any artist or friend on the go. For extra love, I’ve designed them so my logo is carefully sewn into the edge of the fabric to ensure the authenticity.

With new projects and works emerging this seasonal metamorphosis feels like an elixir, a potent brew that inspires and invigorates. With high summer now a fond memory, this new wonderfully functional and fun collection of textiles breathes new life into my artistic passion. My collection of organic cotton wash bags, canvas bags and cushion covers are all available to order on my website and in my gallery in Totnes.

I am also delighted to be hosting a Christmas open studio event here in Devon, I will have a large selection of small affordable oil paintings as well as larger pieces from my new collection.

Many of these pieces will not be online until after this event so do pop along for a sneak peek. If you’re unable to make the journey I am very happy to organise a live WhatsApp call to show you around virtually. If you would like to see the smaller originals (or any larger sizes too) do reach out and I can send over some images to suit your budget.

Appointments are already filling up fast so if you intend to visit do drop me a line, I’ll put you on my list and save you one of my mum’s very special mince pies. It is, of course, completely fine to just pop by if you would like a little look around.

I will also have browsers bursting with beautiful limited edition prints as well as a selection of special hand embellished canvases.

My new textile range will also be on display too of course 🙂

I wish you all a restorative and easeful November,

Sending love and blessings,

Yvonne xxx
