The D’Art Gallery Christmas Art Show in Dartmouth

Albert Einstein once said “Life is like riding a bicycle; to keep your balance you must keep moving” and that has never been truer for me as I stand busily painting away here in my studio! Hot on the tail of my recent show in London, I am currently preparing some new pieces to be exhibited at the D’Art Gallery Christmas Art Show in Dartmouth.

Christmas Art Show in Dartmouth

Promising to brighten up December with a diverse collection of new work from a colony (apparently that is the appropriate collective noun!) of local internationally-renowned artists, The D’Art Gallery Winter Show starts on Saturday December 5th and runs right into the new year. The gallery is open daily from 10am-4:30pm (except for Tuesdays when it is closed). I will be showing a selection of original glittery flower paintings, along with some limited edition prints and will also have some of my cards for sale.

I love these local art shows- it’s always lovely to meet with my Devon contemporaries and to see the new work they have been creating. There’s a great camaraderie among local Devon artists and its lovely to meet up at such an event as this Christmas Art Show in Dartmouth to have a glass of mulled wine and discuss what we’ve been busy doing and muse over our latest ventures.

The D’Art Gallery

The D’Art Gallery is on Lower Street in Devon’s yachty harbourside haven of Dartmouth, not too far from where I live and work in Totnes. Over the last twenty years the gallery has built up an impressive reputation in the art world for its considered and interesting curation of inspiring contemporary British art exhibitions. The owners, Edward and Tom, also run the ‘Own Art’ scheme whereby you can spread the cost of artwork over a period of time (interest free) to make the chance to buy and own great pieces of art accessible to all. I love this scheme as it really opens up the contemporary art world to everyone and gives people an opportunity to own whatever piece of art might unexpectedly stir their soul when they visit the gallery.

I hope to see some of you there so that I can meet you in person and show you my latest flowerscapes!

The D’Art Gallery Winter Art Show runs from 5th December until January.
