A Collaboration With Cornish Flower Company
I love how creating art can be so socially stimulating and open up doors I never even knew existed, and that was exactly how I felt when I was contacted by the gorgeous folk over at Cornish Blooms. I am always excited to hear from like-minded brands looking to work together as it’s always nice to be recognised for what you do and to be given an opportunity to extend your skillset. The company got in touch with me to ask about the possibility of me helping with the design of the packaging for their Cornish flower delivery boxes, and I was so excited to be asked that I leapt at the chance!
The family-run farm, based in Cornwall, specialise in delivering beautiful fresh flowers by post in simple, charming bouquets and clusters of vibrant stems. By working closely with the British seasons they bring you a variety of seasonal flowers as nature intended. Their home-grown Cornish flowers by post are picked on their farm tucked away in the West of Cornwall and delivered free of charge directly from field to front door.
With over thirty years of flower-growing experience in the family, Cornish Blooms really know a thing or two about the Cornish flower business and pride themselves on supplying the most cared for beautiful flowers by post for people all over the UK to enjoy. My work is a rich vibrant sparkling seduction of colour celebrating mystery, magic and love. Tumbling hedgerows and wild places provide my inspiration, so a collaboration with Cornish Blooms was perfect. Their scented narcissi are a particular favourite of mine; I find the scent completely hypnotic and captivating, whilst the sunshiny colours are a pure delight, really bringing a joyful brightness to the winter months.
The Yvonne Coomber-designed packaging will be landing on doorsteps across the country starting this Christmas, and will be proudly adorned with a version of “You’re Gorgeous”, one of my most popular and successful prints which is now completely sold out.
Beth at Cornish Bloom says, “We were so please when Yvonne said she would allow us to use one of her beautiful images on our new boxes. I first saw one of Yvonne’s paintings in a gallery in St Ives and knew that one day I would have to have one of her images! Our boxes now look beautiful, and perfectly capture the natural style and seasonality of our Cornish-grown flowers.
